On Friday 11th February the "Amber Flag Committee" hosted an "Inside Out Day" and raised €455.15 for Pieta House https://www.pieta.ie/
Both pupils and staff all wore an item of clothing inside out to make us stop and think that how someone looks on the outside doesn’t always reflect how they're feeling on the inside. First and second class pupils explored what makes a good friend by creating "Recipes for Friendship". A great class bonding activity, children were encouraged to highlight the positive qualities they see in others and write their own recipes of what a good friend means to them.
On "Thankful Thursday" each class chatted about the things in their lives they were thankful and grateful for. Together we then created a whole school gratitude display with each child pining their own colourful post-it to the board, showcasing what each of us is thankful for.
Every Wednesday during the month of January, all classes will go on a winter walk around the race course. We are lucky to have such a fabulous space to enjoy on our door step. It's a great way to get out in the fresh air, enjoy nature and to clear heads. A simple yet effective way to promote both healthy bodies and minds.
Introducing our fantastic "Amber Flag Committee" for the school year 2021/22. We look forward to working together and coming up with some great ideas in support of the Amber Flag initiative.
What a positive message! This fabulous art work by Ms Breen's 5th & 6th class really brightens up our front hall.
